Everyone is a king and a queen for the day, as we learn about proportions and scale through portraits.
Draw a simple oval shape for the face. Add eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Cut a cute crown. Glue the crown on the head and add GLITTER! GLITTER TIP: I always mix glitter with some clear "water" glue. The kids can then "paint" on the glitter glue mix. Much less messy...and saves you finding glitter stuck everywhere for days.

An excellent activity to teach pattern.
1. Start with some lines that criss-cross accross the page (if the kids can use a ruler-then this could be a good opportunity to practice). 2. Draw the simplpe elepant shape. 3. Fill each shape with different colour patterns. 4. Paint the background with different colour water colour paint. 5. Paint the elephant with black (add quite a lot of water to create a grey tone).
Our first project of the term. This is to re-introduce the processes of the classroom when painting and to reiterate colouring neatly in the lines with primary colours.
