Another great opportunity to merge science and art. We created terreriums in groups to see how plants can provide their own atmosphere.
We are being inspired by Warhol and Lichtenstein for these works of art. Using bold, brash colours and strong black outlines to create Pop Art-esque shoes.
A great recycling activity which is also good for teaching how to work in 3-dimensions.
1. Lay out plastic over your tables (It is so messy!). 2. Have the children bring in 1 roll of toilet paper each. 3. Take out the inner cardboard tube of the toilet roll. 4. Use the toilet paper, water, white glue and flour to pake a thick, moldable paste. 5. Each group can make a bucket of this paste (they really enjoyed this part). 6. Cover your carboard roll with newspaper. Create a monster face on your toilet roll by mushing together the paste into shapes. 7. Let the papier mache dry before you paint it.
